📋 How to Request Account Deletion

🔑 Step 1: Find Your User ID
  1. Open the Kind Day app
  2. Go to Account & Support
  3. Scroll down to the "User ID" section
  4. Tap the copy icon to copy your User ID

💡 Your User ID is a unique identifier like: abc123xyz789...

📧 Step 2: Send Deletion Request Email
  1. Email to: hello@kindday.site
  2. Subject: "Account Deletion Request"
  3. Include in the email:
    • Your User ID (copied from the app)
    • Platform: Android or iOS
    • Reason for deletion (optional)
  4. We will respond within 48 hours confirming the deletion
  5. Your data will be permanently deleted within 30 days
📱 Can't find your User ID?

If you can't access the app, you can still request deletion by providing:

  • Your device model (e.g., Samsung Galaxy S21)
  • Approximate installation date
  • Purchase email receipt (if you have a subscription)

We'll use this information to locate your account in our system.

🗂️ What Data Will Be Deleted

The following data will be permanently removed:
  • ✅ All habit data (titles, descriptions, history)
  • ✅ Daily check-ins and ratings
  • ✅ Progress statistics and insights
  • ✅ User preferences and settings
  • ✅ Anonymous authentication ID
  • ✅ Subscription status (if applicable)
  • ✅ Device identifiers linked to your account

📦 What Data Will Be Retained

For legal and compliance purposes, we retain:
  • 🔒 Transaction records (subscription purchases) for 7 years (tax/legal requirement)
  • 🔒 Anonymized analytics data (no personal identifiers)
  • 🔒 Crash logs and error reports (anonymized)

Note: These retained records cannot be linked back to you after account deletion.

⚠️ Warning: This Action is Permanent

Once your account is deleted, you will not be able to:

  • Recover any habit data or progress
  • Restore your subscription (if active)
  • Undo the deletion

Alternative: If you just want to clear your data without deleting your account, you can uninstall the app and reinstall it to start fresh.

🔄 Alternative: Delete Specific Data Without Deleting Account

If you want to keep your account but delete specific data:

  1. Open the Kind Day app
  2. Go to each habit and delete them individually
  3. Your subscription will remain active
  4. You can create new habits anytime

Note: Cloud sync data will be removed when you delete habits, but local cache may persist until you clear app data.
